This year's Creativity Competition at record-producer.com involves writing an original "Beatles" song. I've found trying to create music that sounds like a particular artist is a pretty good device for getting something going when you don't have any ideas. I wonder if for this competition I could get away with directly swiping a Rutles song. Maybe "Yellow Submarine Sandwich" or "W.C. Fields Forever".
